San Francisco and North Bay full-service general contractor looking to bring on a full time high end residential journeyman carpenter DUTIES -Framing -Finish carpentry -Cabinetry installation -Waterproofing, flashing, siding installation -Door, window installations -Cover driving area of San Francisco and Marin County MUST HAVES -Problem solving skills -Do fractions -Simple geometry, find the area of a circle, cube, cylinder -Find a right angle -Split and angle -Check for square -Some drywall, plumbing, and electrical experience Carpentry skills -Knows something about buildings codes -Can hang a door -Waterproof a window and knows “mechanical overlap”. Caulking won’t seal it -Can layout kitchen cabinets -Knows how to size a header and knows how to frame a wall -Can frame stairs (with some help, ok) -Can install siding -Can frame a floor -Knows the difference between balloon and platform frame Concrete -Can build forms -Tie rebar -Knows what a hold down is and how to lay them out -Can calculate the amount of concrete needed for an order Technical knowledge -Knows different adhesives and their applications -Waterproofing methods -Knows different flashings -Knows which primer to use and where -Knows what types of lumber go where -Knows how to properly nail off a shear wall -5+ years of experience -Ability to read blueprints -Vehicle requirements: Van/SUV or Truck -Strong customer facing skills & experience -Able to lift 100 lbs -PPE: Safety Glasses -Tools: Carpenters Square; Cordless impact Drill;Framing Hammer;Grinder;Level;Nail Bar;Sawzall;Skill Saw;Tape Measure JOB DETAILS -Rate : $40-$50/hr -Typical work week from 8am-430pm -This is a long term position -Mileage expenses covered. -Overtime available References & background checks will be required.
