JERSEY SHORE, NJ — Summer is just a few weeks away, but the temperatures this weekend may bring the early birds out for the sunshine. If you're thinking about heading to the shore this weekend, here's a few things to remember about traffic at the Jersey Shore. The weather forecast for Saturday is for temperatures in the upper 70s with "a shower in places," according to Accuweather. On Sunday, the temps again are expected to be near 80, but there's a higher chance of rain later in the day, according to the forecast for Toms River. With Friday's temperatures in the upper 70s as well, it's a good bet local roads will be busy up and down the Jersey Shore, so remember to have some patience so everyone gets to their destination safely. If you're headed down to the Shore to take in the sunshine, expect that Friday evening's commute will be heavier than usual southbound on the Garden State Parkway, and eastbound on Interstate 195 and the Atlantic City Expressway. Saturday morning will likely see heavier traffic on those roads as well, with daytrippers heading to the boardwalks and beach areas. With rain possible Sunday afternoon, weekend visitors may head home sooner, which would limit the Sunday evening traffic snarls north and west. Just a reminder that the beaches are not open for swimming yet; lifeguards will not be on duty until Memorial Day weekend in most places. (Looking for information on season beach badges?
