LAUREL, MD — A Montgomery County grand jury on April 30 indicted former Laurel Police Chief David Crawford on arson and reckless endangerment charges, FOX 5 DC reported. The news outlet noted that Crawford is tied to at least a dozen fires in these counties between 2011 and 2020:
CharlesFrederickHowardMontgomeryPrince George's FOX 5 added that charges are pending in all those counties except Charles. Crawford faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree arson and lesser crimes in Prince George's County, the website explained.
The former chief is accused of setting three fires at his stepson's homes, FOX 5 wrote. The Washington journalists informed that the other victims included former Laurel officials and doctors of Crawford.
