Press release from the City of Waukee: May 13, 2021 Waukee's Spring Clean-Up Week was held April 26-May 1. During the Monday-Friday curbside collections, the City's solid waste provider ASI, picked up 150 tons of extra junk and debris. On May 1, Metro Waste Authority reported that they collected 8,549 pounds of household hazardous waste; used motor oil and oil-based paint (combined) accounted for nearly half of the total waste. Dozens of tires were disposed of, and three 40-yard dumpsters were filled with appliances to be scrapped. Did you miss Spring Clean-Up Week? No worries. City of Waukee/ASI customers may place one large item on the curb each week of the year for no additional fee. However, a courtesy call to ASI at 515-964-5229 is appreciated. Call that same number to arrange an appliance pick-up for a fee.
