Immediate opening for a part-time custodian. Evening shift 13 hours per week. See below for job description. Please reply for application instructions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: 1. Excellent work ethic and demonstrated honesty. 2. One year of experience in custodial or related work. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Possesses knowledge of standard tools, equipment and materials; methods, theories, principles, and terminology basic to the custodial craft/trade. 2. Works safely and establishes a safe working environment. Reacts quickly in emergency situations to maximize human safety. 3. Communicates effectively orally. 4. Understands and follows oral and written instructions. 5. Works with client, building occupants, fellow team members, and general public in a pleasant and cooperative manner. 6. Maintains professional confidentiality and works collaboratively with peers. 7. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Ability to stand, walk, and bend over, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull, and move, lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds to waist level. 2. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. 3. Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required to operate power and manual equipment using both hands. RESPONSIBILITIES: General- Custodians are responsible for the cleanliness and orderly appearance of the Client's facilities. Communication - The Custodians shall report to and take direction from the Custodial Supervisor or Project Manager on all matters. All Client requests outside of normal tasks shall be reported to the Custodial Supervisor. In order to maintain staff coordination, your presence will be required at periodic planning meetings. Care – Treat all Rogers Dunn/Duvall Decker materials and equipment with care. Treat all client facilities and equipment with care. We are all individually responsible for prolonging the life and protecting the quality of our client’s facilities. ACTIVITIES (PER CONTRACT & ASSIGNMENT): Custodians shall report to the Custodial Supervisors and Project Managers for new assignments and to report on previously assigned tasks. Assigned tasks will regularly include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Clean, service and stock restrooms. 2. Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors and stairways. 3. Gather and dispose of rubbish and waste materials by hand or with the use of powered equipment. 4. When working after normal business hours, be alert to activity in an around building and report any suspicious activity. 5. Prior to leaving building, inspect doors, windows, and locks to see that they are properly and securely fastened. 6. Observe appearances and conditions of premises and equipment and report needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services. 7. Dust furniture, shelving, file cabinets, and windowsills. 8. Scrub, strip, sanitize, wax, and buff floors using powered machines equipped with rotating brushes. 9. Polish furniture, metal work, marble and chrome using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds. 10. Alert Custodial Supervisor of any shortage in cleaning and toiletry supplies. 11. Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using both step and extension ladders. 12. Clean grounds and parking lots of litter, glass, or other debris. 13. Load and unload supplies. 14. Secure building, lock and unlock facility, inspect for opening and closing. 15. Shampoo carpets. 16. May perform ground maintenance tasks as needed, such as clearing debris or leaves. 17. Perform miscellaneous related tasks as assigned. 18. Record time, tasks and materials used. WORK ENVIRONMENT: 1. Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. 2. Exposure to dust, oils, moisture, and cleaning chemicals can be expected. 3. Overhead work is required. 4. Typical schedule is after hours and evenings. QUALITY CONTROL: Seek knowledge and understanding actively. The more knowledge one possesses about the systems in place and the level of service expected, the easier it becomes to provide high quality service. Use the tools provided effectively. Ask questions and apply the lessons learned to the daily work. Compensation: Commensurate with experience –hourly
