PORTSMOUTH, NH — A Seacoast bank made donations this week to three nonprofit arts and historic in Portsmouth and Exeter. Newburyport Bank donated $1,500 to the Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, $1,000 to the Prescott Park Arts Festival in Portsmouth, and $1,000 to the American Independence Museum in Exeter. The bank has been a "longstanding" supporter of Strawbery Banke, a 10-acre outdoor museum featuring heritage gardens, dozens of historic buildings, and costumed role-players. It reopens on June 19. Lloyd L. Hamm, the president and CEO of Newburyport Bank, called it "a vital part of our community." The donation to the arts festival will be used for the "All Together Now" benefit concert series which runs from May 14 to June 11. The concerts, put together by The Music Hall, Prescott Parks Arts Festival, and 3S Artspace, are raising money to provide financial support for the orgs, something Hamm called, a "tremendous collaboration that's been formed." The American Independence Museum will reopen on May 15 for tours and programs. It will also offer a modified in-person festival throughout the month of July. "The pandemic has forced all of us to miss so many cultural and historic venues and events," Hamm said. "The Annual American Independence Festival is one of them, so we're extremely pleased to see it get fully back on track and proud our financial support will assist in that effort."
