Job Title: Carpenter Reports To: Superintendent Department: Operations Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt Salary: $22.00/hr Benefits: After 60 days of employment Date of Hire: Immediately General Purpose The primary purpose a Carpenter for Sky Blue Builders, LLC is to construct or repair the framework of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. They determine the dimensions of the framework to be constructed, measure, and cut the required building materials accordingly, and assemble the materials to form the framework. Duties and Responsibilities • Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping metal studs, lumber, wood, and other building materials. • Attaching building materials using screws, nuts, and bolts. • Erecting temporary structures such as scaffolds and hoists. • Performing repairs on existing framework structures that are damaged or structurally unsound. • Analyzing blueprints and drawings to determine the structural dimensions of the framework to be constructed. • Perform wall, ceiling and/or other framing systems layout and control. • Analyzing construction plans to identify potential structural problems. • Examining building materials to identify any defects. • Performing cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste. • Constructing metal stud framing systems for commercial building construction. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience • High school diploma or GED. • Associate degree in Carpentry or completion of a carpentry apprenticeship. • Sound knowledge of building codes and safety regulations. • Physical strength and stamina. • The ability to interpret blueprints. • The ability to safely use hand and power tools. • Effective communication skills; good customer service attitude and personable • Must be able to commute to DEN and achieve a DEN security badge (no felonies in the last 10 years). • Experience working within government contracts of construction a plus.
