ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving a battery at a clinic, a domestic disturbance, a missing girl, scams and DUIs. Here is information from the latest police reports: Battery at clinic Halyna Hrushetsky, 79, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 1 p.m. Monday at Edward-Elmhurst Health Center, 429 N. York St., on a charge of battery. She was released on bond. According to a police report, a man said Hrushetsky battered him while they were in an argument. Domestic disturbance A domestic disturbance was reported about 11 a.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of North Michigan Avenue. The suspect became upset and struck the victim. The suspect left before police arrived. Efforts to find the person were unsuccessful. An investigation is pending. Missing girl While on patrol, an officer encountered a missing girl and her mother about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of North York. The mother said she reported her daughter missing, but failed to notify Lisle police after finding her. The officer called Lisle police, and the girl's name was removed from a police database. Scams A resident in the 300 block of Ridgeland Avenue told police she received an email from someone indicating an order was being processed for the purchase of a computer. She called the phone number provided and told a person that she did not place an order. She provided her bank account number to be reimbursed. The person said he refunded too much and asked the victim to wire transfer money to him. The report was filed Tuesday. A resident in the 100 block of East Van Buren Street told police Tuesday that the resident had posted a painting for sale on eBay. The suspect sent a check to the victim and advised the victim the overage was to be paid to the movers for transporting the painting. The victim sent money to Cash App for the transportation fees. The victim later learned the check had not cleared. Bicycle recovered A black BMX bicycle was found Tuesday on High Street, in the grassy area near the railroad tracks. The bike had no front wheel, the rear wheel was bent, and the tire was shredded. The bike was placed into evidence. DUIs Matthew R. Mills, 28, of Bensenville, was arrested about 2 a.m. Tuesday at Route 83 and North on charges of DUI, speeding, improper lane usage, failure to signal and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was released on bond. Samuel Juarez Rodriguez, 22, of Chicago, was cited about 5 a.m. Tuesday at North and Oak on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, transportation of open alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on bond. Driving violations Iasian R. DeJesus, 44, of Plainfield was cited at 3:30 p.m. Monday at York and Brush Hill on charges of failure to give information after striking a vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.Salome Cruz Mucio, 41, of Stone Park, was cited about 11:30 p.m. Monday at North and Evergreen on charges of no valid driver's license and no license plate light. He was released on bond. Ezequiel Serrano, 43, of Melrose Park, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at North and Berteau on a charge of no valid driver's license. He was released on bond. Fugitive An officer tried to stop a car with heavily tinted windows about 6 p.m. Monday at York and North. But the suspect car did not stop and sped eastbound on North Avenue, approaching Interstate 290. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt.
