AlphaMicron, a manufacturer of high-tech liquid crystal sunglasses and goggles based out of Kent, is looking for an eyewear/goggle assembler. If you are looking for a unique manufacturing environment, different from traditional line work, this is the place! AlphaMicron is a friendly, inclusive, fun-loving, small company (35-40 people). During the lunch hour you will more than likely find folks playing a game of pickle ball or ping pong, and a few employees bring their pet dogs in throughout the week. Assemblers must be fairly quick, organized, adaptable to change, self-motivated, focused on quality at all times, and team players. Assembly consists of various stations with several general steps in producing each product. Depending on the product requirements, an assembler may perform any or all steps of the line and may perform steps at more than one station. The general steps of assembly include: Frame Assembly Lens Integration Packing Quality Inspection Job Responsibilities Assembles parts on time, accurately, and thoroughly to approved specificationsFollow Operating Procedures and Bill of Materials to verify parts required prior to assemblyMaintains up to date records, individual documentation, and general paperworkInform supervisors of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problemFamiliarize yourself with the tools, instrumentation, and calibration equipment Skills/Requirements Assembly line experience a plus, but not requiredStrong technical and problem-solving skills a plusAttention to detail with precision and accuracyGood attendance and punctuality is a mustAbility to meet reasonable quotas with proper training and supportPC Skills working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc) a plusComfortable with basic hand tools, lab equipment, specialized tools & equipment (after training).Good dexterity with the ability to work with small precision parts Ability to lift heavy bins up to 30lbs.Positive attitude and the ability to work well with othersExceptional benefits include 2 weeks paid sick/personal leave and 2 weeks paid vacation per year (on accrual basis). Also included are full medical, dental, and life insurance benefits with little to no out-of-pocket cost for premiums. This is a full time position, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday. Base wage starting at $12/hour, but the hourly rate may be negotiated based on experience. The first shot of COVID-19 vaccine (with a scheduled second shot) is required for employment.
