5 Village Businesses To Get Honored With Annual Award

VILLAGE, NY — For the 31st straight year, the community organization Village Preservation is honoring small businesses and influential characters for their impact on the Lower Manhattan neighborhood. Village Preservation, a non-profit that advocates for the preservation of the architectural and cultural heritage of the community, is having its 41st Annual Meeting and 31st Annual Village Awards on June 16. The organization is honoring five Village businesses and two individuals for their contributions to the neighborhood. Here are the five businesses receiving an award in 2021: Casa Magazines, 22 Eighth AvenueMercer Street Books and Records, 206 Mercer StreetNewsbar Cafè, 107 University PlacePangea Restaurant and Cabaret, 178 Second AveHudson Park Library, 66 Leroy Street Along with the businesses, East Village restauranteur and civic leader Bon Yagi, and South Village small business owner, advocate, and leader Linda Pagan are getting an award. "We'll be looking back on an extraordinary year of challenges and accomplishments, considering a slate of trustees for reelection, and celebrating seven amazing awardees who have made irreplaceable contributions to Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo," Village Preservation said in an email about the awards.
