Asphalt Laborer

SC Services, Inc. is looking for motivated, hard-working and reliable laborers experienced in the field of roadway construction to add to our team. The scope of work includes potholing, hand trenching, excavating, installing conduit/cable and setting vaults. This is done by using various pieces of equipment such as brooms, rakes, shovels, saws, skid steers and plate tamps. Please let us know if you have experience operating heavy machinery. Laborers will also set up traffic control and direct traffic as needed. In addition, your role will be to repair utility cuts by removing temporary material and replacing it with permanent hot asphalt. In final stages, asphalt experience is a plus in smoothing and tamping asphalt material to the proper grade and thickness to properly adhere material to the roads surface. Applicants must be able to stand for extended periods of time, stoop, bend and crouch as required to perform the job. Being able to lift, on a frequent basis, of 30 to 50 pounds without assistance and 150 pounds with assistance is beneficial. Employees must have reliable transportation and have adequate communication skills.
