Description
You are invited to share in the loving work of hospice. Learn about the ancient Celtic tradition and wisdom of Anam Cara -- soul friend. Support a patient and family in this most intimate time of life -- play music, sing songs, listen to stories, read poetry or prayer, hold a hand in sacred silence. It is about living in the grace of each moment.
Many of our patients live in a senior community setting -- independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, adult family homes -- and have missed the deep connection of family, friends and hospice volunteers during the covid 19 pandemic. Please join us as our volunteers step back into their work of healing presence with our hospice patient and families.
We serve patients living in all Multnomah and Clackamas County areas -- close-in and outer east Portland, Happy Valley, Sandy, Estacada, -- your patient visits will be in your community.
The next volunteer training, comprised of 3 sessions, is scheduled for June 19th, 26th and 27th. Keeping our staff, volunteers and patients safe is our highest priority. We follow all CDC, state, and county covid 19 safety guidelines.
For a complete volunteer job description, application packet, and additional information about volunteering contact Michele Fuchs, Volunteer Coordinator,
