Gig Workers Collective, a worker lead non-profit, is looking for gig workers (i.e. Uber/Lyft/Doordash/Instacart/Favor/Grubhub/Postmates) in Houston to participate in interviews next week - May Friday 14th & Monday 17th. If you're interested in participating reply to this post with your phone number. We are teaming up with another organization to research the issues in the gig economy. The sudies consist of in-person interviews lasting no longer than 1.5hrs of your time. Expenses for travel and time will be covered. Gig Workers Collective will give you $25 visa gift card for time and expense. Interview time appox 5-10mins. HRW will give $20 visa gift card for time and expense. Interview time appox 1-1hr 20mins. Both studies are seperate (independent) and need to be completed in order to receive gift cards - totaling $45 combined. Requirements: You need to have done gig work for longer than 60 days on any app. You can be active or inactive. If inactive, your last order/assignment needs to be completed within the last year. Reason: Your input will help us better address conditions all gig workers face. Interview questions will cover reasons for joining apps, earnings, expenses, the jobs they are assigned, workplace safety, job security, how the pandemic has affected their work, experience claiming unemployment insurance or pandemic unemployment assistance, and how problems working for the apps have affected their daily lives and their family.
