Pay: $16.75/hour starting pay rate depending on experience
Qualifications: Must be a mature, responsible adult at least 21 years of age. Must possess High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and a valid Illinois Drivers' License. Some security training or security work experience a plus. Must be able to obtain and keep current CPR and AED certifications. The Park District provides certification training. Must have strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and communication skills. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and driving record check.
Duties: Patrols and visually inspects facility and park grounds on a scheduled rotational basis to insure that all parks and facilities are in order, safety rules are being adhered to and Park Ordinances are being followed by patrons using Skokie Park District parks and facilities. Interacts with the public in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner to answer inquiries about Park District programs, facilities and parks. Opens and closes restroom areas, courts, gates and other secure park areas and facilities. If problems are noted that require police presence, notifies the Skokie Police. Duties include maintaining a daily log of site visits, completing incident reports, graffiti removal, trash pick-up and other duties as assigned by the Parks Supervisor.
Hours: Saturday & Sunday shifts available.
May 1 through September 30, 2021: Two shifts available: 10 AM to 4 PM and 4 PM to 10 PM
October 1 through October 31, 2021: 1 PM and 10 PM
