Description
Several people have offered to help look for my missing dog River, so I'm organizing a search party. If anyone would be interested in helping search for any amount of time, please let me know, or just show up! My Mom Patty Ohman will stay in the campground with beverages and snacks while I am out searching. Sat 5/15/21 10AM-4PM Meet at Bogard Campground (Lassen National Forest) Note that Google Maps gives incorrect directions to Bogard Campground. Here are correct directions: 1. 2 Miles East of Bogard Rest Area on Highway 44, look for the campground sign. 2. Turn onto 31N26. Drive approx 1 mile. Look for another campground sign. 3. Turn right onto 31N21. Drive appox 1 mile to campground. Park in day use area. These are dirt roads, but they are passable with a 2WD vehicle. Please share this post as it might help bring about a miracle - Lost Dog "River" Description: Reddish Tan spayed female dog with graying/white fur particularly around the muzzle, head, neck. 16 year old, approximately 16 lbs, Dachund / English Greyhound mix, approximately knee high. Very skinny, ribs visible. Health: She has a heart murmur, is going through kidney failure, and has dementia. Her hearing, sight, smell, and mental faculties have been declining over the past two years. She may appear confused and not respond to her name. Owner Contact Info: Scott Ohman, , Arcata, CA Last seen: Thursday, May 6, 3:00 PM Last Known Location: Bogard Campground in Lassen National Forest, near Bogard Rest Area, 2 miles off of Highway 44 in Lassen County California, East of Lassen National Park, 30 miles West of Susanville. Wearing: River was wearing a blue collar and tag, but her collar was loose, it's possible one or both fell off. Was not wearing clothes. The only chip she has is an outdated one with the information of someone who owned her 13 years ago in another state. In addition to any sightings, if anyone has ideas for who else I could contact or where else I could post, I would appreciate it. I have called the Susanville Animal Shelter. My mom is going to call vets and neighboring county animal shelters today. I have had no luck reaching anyone at the national forest offices. Just voicemails that are not returned.
