Maintenance Assistant needed for an indoor/outdoor recreation facility in Rockland County. The assistant will support the facility manager on a daily basis. Full time position with immediate start date. Hours will increase as we get closer to the start of the camp season. Qualifications include strong carpentry, painting and trade skills. Accountable for general maintenance, repairs, and other tasks needed to keep facility in excellent and clean condition including, but not limited to, mowing, weed-whacking, leaf and snow removal. Must be willing to work until the job is complete. Required Skills: - High School Diploma or GED. - Some college or trade school experience a plus. - Strong carpentry, painting and trade skills. - Basic landscaping experience a plus. - Good communication skills. - Strong work ethic and history of reliability demonstrated through references from former employees. - Ability to lift or carry up to 75 pounds. - Able to stand, walk, bend over and lift for extended period of time. - Must have reliable transportation to and from work. - All candidates will be subject to a background check as well as checks against the New York State and National Sex Offender registries. Hourly: $20-25
