TechGYRLS® gives young girls the opportunity to attend STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) workshops! During this workshop, students will be creating a mixed media self- portrait piece which will encompass the personalities of each participant, a perfect way to tell your story without using words. Students will learn composition and tricks in finding proportions through experimenting with value, shading and basic principles in eye/hand coordination. This workshop will explore the individual stories that make each person special while working with paper, paint, pastels, ink, and more! Through attending STEAM workshops, girls can learn more about STEAM hobbies and careers for their futures! Girls will be dropped off at the Greater Green Bay YWCA at 9:30am, take a bus to The Art Garage, complete a fun and educational workshop, and will even be able to bring home either part of their workshop project, or a separate take-home project. After, the girls will be bussed back to the YWCA for pick-up at 1:00pm.
