I am an experienced percussionist looking for gigs recordings, etc. My specialties are Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music but I am interested in all styles of music. I have studied in Cuba, Brazil, and New York and speak Spanish and Portuguese. Some of the instruments I play: congas, bongos, bells, shakers, thai gongs, chekere, surdo, agog?, snare drum, pandeiro, repinique, timbau, chocalho, tamborim, foot pedals, djembe, guiro, etc.; NOTE: I DO NOT play drumset.. Have played with: Quimbomb? (Cuban son band that I lead), Trey Anastasio, Gary Morgan & Panamericana, Samba New York, Bloco Vigario (Brazil), Grupo Ribeiro, Nanni Assis, Dende, Las Gardenias, Pupi Insua?s Grupo Oriki, Jorge Alab?, Jay Collins, and Mecca Bodega. I am looking for paid gigs but am willing to invest time (but not money for rehearsal space or anything else) in promising projects. I am reliable and responsible and look to work with people who are the same.
