Join us for the 17th Annual Judy Maple Memorial Golf Classic on August 14, 2021! Join us for the 17th Annual Judy Maple Memorial Golf Classic on August 14, 2021!  This is the primary fundraiser for the Judy Maple Foundation and through your generous participation and donations, over $190,000 has been donated through scholarships and aid to families and organizations in need. This year we are proud to announce the proceeds will benefit the New Albany Special Olympics. Special Olympics is part of the global inclusion movement using sports, health education, and leadership programs to empower people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. The New Albany Special Olympics local chapter was founded in 2011 byAmy and Paul Thomas of New Albany. Their son Matthew Thomas was the inspiration for this venture. This chapter is completely self funded by the New Albany community. This year’s proceeds will be used to purchase new track uniforms for over 60 athletes as well as the funding for the start of the power lifting program. A portion of the proceeds will also be used to continue The Judy Maple Memorial Scholarship Fund and our annual Holiday Giving Program. The Judy Maple Memorial Scholarship is presented each year to a deserving Edison High School student. This student most exemplifies the qualities that Judy always felt to be important-being a positive role model by demonstrating sportsmanship and serving the community.
