The Arbors of Bedford, a premier memory care community in Bedford, NH is looking for a talented Maintenance Tech to join our team.  Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 8AM-4:30PM The Maintenance Technician performs repairs (both minor and major). S/he implements regular and preventive maintenance programs that promote a sense of well-being and aesthetic appeal for residents and staff, and communicates with the Maintenance Director on the condition of buildings and equipment. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Minor electrical work, such as: replacing lighting fixtures and ballasts, replacing light switches, gfci, and receptacles, and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.  • Minor plumbing, such as: replacing faucet decks and toilets, repair and install pvc, copper fittings, and toilet flanges, and ability to troubleshot plumbing issues. • Painting abilities: strong finish painter, responsible for room turn overs as well as touch up painting in common areas. • Ability to properly repair damaged drywall and sheetrock installation.  • Ability to use carpet extractors, pressure washers, and power tools. • Ability to use and understand nurse call systems and software programs.  • Familiar with emergency life safety practices and procedures in conjunction with DHHS and OSHA standards.  • Understands the practices surrounding proper handling of bio hazardous waste • Follows standards and practices for the use of specific chemicals • Demonstrates excellent mechanical skills EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATICATION • Familiar with emergency procedures if chemicals are misused • Demonstrates the interest and ability to learn new skills and techniques as needed • Demonstrates proper usage of chemicals and equipment SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Possess good communication skills. • Diagnostic abilities and skills in completing details • Possesses the mechanical skills necessary for accomplishing repairs on systems and buildings PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Physically able to move at least 50 lbs. without assistance. • Physically able to bend, reach and work in small areas. • Physically able to push and pull, equipment and furnishings. • Physically able to stand and to work on hands and knees for long periods of time.
