An installation of automated performance and multimedia created by Landon Peer ~ May 14 & 15 7-9PM At the center of Computer Music for Piano is a performance (or rather, "mechanical reproduction") of new music composed for player piano by Landon Peer. Featuring live piano accompanied by quadrophonic surround sound and projected video, the viewer is offered an immersion into the bucolic world in which it was composed: The natural beauty of Hunterdon County, NJ.The music is from the soon-to-be-released album of the same title, which will be available early to those in attendance. For your safety, attendees must reserve a viewing time on Eventbrite. Only a small group will have access to the installation space during each period. The performance is continuous and has no beginning or end. During your scheduled time you may enter and exit the installation as you wish. Stay to enjoy coffee, wine and the company of friends and friendly strangers gathered on the outdoor patio. Face coverings and social distancing will be required.We look forward to seeing you!Artist profile Since his studies at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC, Landon has been active in various musical capacities from composing for films and commercials to his work as organist at High Bridge Reformed Church. His inclination towards both tradition and new technology has led to his album of ironically-electronic music, "Computer Music for Piano", a collection composed throughout his years living in Hunterdon County NJ. It was recorded in March 2021 at his home studio in Glen Gardner and will be released this summer.
