Description

Nationally recognized singer-songwriter, Cosy Sheridan, appears in concert with bass player Charlie Koch. Cosy Sheridan, nationally recognized singer/songwriter, will perform a concert of her delightful original songs, sponsored by the Dublin Community Center (the DubHub), on Saturday, June 12. She will be joined by bass player, Charlie Koch. The concert will be held in the Garden Sanctuary behind Dublin Community Church, next door to the community center at 1123 Main Street, in Dublin. Doors open at 5:30, with the music starting at 6:30 pm. Rain date is the following day, June 13, with music starting at 3pm. The pandemic prompted concert cancellations for Cosy and Charlie, so they focused on weekly livestream performances on Facebook. During the past year they moved to Harrisville. The DubHub is pleased to be among the first to host a live concert by Cosy Sheridan as things begin to open up. This concert is limited to 50 attendees. Admission is by ticket only, at $15 each, available on eventbrite. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic suppers and drinks, and find a socially-distanced spot in the garden. Face masks are encouraged when moving about. Hors d’oeuvres and dessert items will be served at intermission by the DubHub. Check the weather forecast to dress appropriately. Cosy Sheridan appeared on the national folk scene in 1992 by winning songwriting contests at the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. She has been on the road ever since, playing clubs, concert halls, and coffeehouses across the country. She has played at Carnegie Hall, The Cowgirl Hall of Fame, and on the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Backed by the strong rhythms and harmonies by her bass player Charlie Koch, she plays a percussive bluesy guitar style, often in open tunings and occasionally with two capos on the guitar neck. The Boston Globe writes: ”Her user-friendly musical philosophy sets her happily apart from the myopic, self-involved songwriters... she is a wonderfully lively, very funny and enormously amiable entertainer with a keen and wicked eye for the excesses of our fast-food, tv-happy and noisome culture.” For more information email host Volkert Volkersz at [email protected].
