Description
Veterans Kayak Trip on the Red River This will be our first guided trip down Tennessee‘s Red River. We are looking for 8 veterans or active military to join us to float down the River. This trip is free so no need to worry about “What’s the catch?” Theres no catch. Veterans Back 40 Adventure just wants to keep the camrodery going. We will start off at the TWRA Red River Canoe dock and float down to the Famous Port Royal state park. We will then cook out! Meet up 0800 Float time- 0900-1300ish Lunch-1300 What we will provide- Kayak/Canoe, Life vest, food, transportation, fun time and smiles Suggested packing list- Small back pack, sunscreen, water, sunglasses, water shoes Warfighter Outfitters is a three team organization which includes Veterans Back 40 Adventure who utilizes Dualsport motorcycles to take veterans on much needed outdoor dirt therapy trips. Team Overland is also a dirt therapy outlet. TO takes veterans out on amazing 4 wheel drive trips. All of this is done at no cost to the veteran or military personnel. Warfighter Outfitters also uses the same concept but uses fishing, hunting and water sports to provide a thereputic outlet. Warfighter Outfitters takes 100% of its proceeds and donations and directly returns it back to the veterans. None of our staff receives any compensation for their work. APPLICANT MUST UNDERSTAND! It is very important that if or when you find out after applying that you can not attend this event you let one of our staff members know so that we can fill your spot with another Veteran. We traditioally have a long waiting list for this event. Doing so will not only ban you from future events but more importantly, you are taking away a chance for another veteran to participate in something that could help them. DONT BE THAT GUY! NOTE- Keep off private property or respect private property. Respect fishermen and don’t cross their lines. Wear shoes that tie or regular water shoes... a lot of people lose flip-flops. In addition, the bottom of the river is rocky and will not feel good with barefeet. Bring sunscreen and bug spray. Bring towels and dry clothes. Bring along a thirst quenching drink: water, ice tea, etc. Glass and styrofoam are not permitted on the river. Pets are permitted on the river, although the may not all enjoy it as much as we do. Leave all items not needed on the river locked in your car. Remember, anything you take may get lost or wet. Personal Flotation Device (PFD) should be worn at all times when on and around the water. Tennessee State Law requires children age 12 and under to wear life jackets at all times. Bring back as much as you take with you ... don't litter the river... pack out what you pack in. We support and practice Leave No Trace wilderness ethics, and strongly urge you to also. A lot of people like to take a garbage bag along and help clean up the river as they go.
