Neuse Regional Libraries invite you to "Coming Together: A Community Celebration" hosted by the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library.
Coming Together is a series that aims to engage the community in open forum discussions with guided moderation to ensure productive dialogue about issues concerning race and equality affecting our community. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in these important events.
This series will include mediated discussions on the following books; So You Want to Talk about Race by Ijeoma Oluo, Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, and How to Be an Anti-Racist by Ibram X. Kendi. This series also includes a webinar session about environmental racism with Dr. Danielle Purifoy of the UNC Public Humanities, a movie screening and discussion of the film Just Mercy, and a Juneteenth community celebration on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the African American Music Trail Park.
