Description

Join Leah Webb, gardening extraordinaire, for a 1hr tour of her 3/4 acre micro-farm followed by a 1hr gardening Q&A. Come with questions! I'm beyond excited to welcome you to the first of many garden tours at Bright Future Farms and Learning Center! We'll start with a 1hr tour of the micro-farm and greenhouse, including descriptions of how I started each of my gardens and how I continually build soil nutrition year after year. The one hour tour will be followed by a 1hr Question and Answer session. This program is designed to inspire creativity, explain the benefits of no-till, no-dig gardening, enhance your knowledge of soil nutrition, and build your confidence as a home gardener. All levels of gardeners can benefit from seeing: The main 1200sqft gardenMixed flowering and edible perennial beds that border the main garden350sqft polycarbonate greenhouse Blackberry, raspberry, fig, and blueberry bushesThe micro-orchard filled with dwarf fruit treesMy small chicken (and duck!) coopHerb gardensThe large edible landscaping bed that lines the roadI'll be sharing what I've learned through twenty years of garden and soil experience including greenhouse work, landscaping, learning-garden manager, soil researcher, and education intern on Appalachian State University's sustainable farm. My techniques pull from deep organic, permaculture, regenerative farming, and edible landscaping design. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to gardening which is why I'll be sharing my practices while giving you the opportunity to ask questions about your own garden and its unique challenges.  Bright Futures Farm is committed to serving all individuals, when possible, regardless of financial limitations. If you'd like to attend, but are unable to pay the full cost $35, send me a message letting me know what you can afford. Likewise, if you'd like to sponsor a participant, shoot me a message and I'll make sure your sponsorship supports a family in need.
