Islands make for varied geology and with it- very different and interesting wine, and nowhere is that more true than Italy! A B O U TRemote vineyards, craggy volcanic soils, maritime influence, and indigenous little-known grapes make wines from Island locations unique and exciting. Very few landscapes impress their sense-of-place/ terroir on its wines quite as strongly as islands do. This is a result of their distinctive setting, isolated wine traditions, and the unique histories of many of the Mediterranean’s islands. We will be discussing the Islands of Italy in particular SARDINIA and SICILY: their history, cuisine, geography and wines! In this seminar, we will explore three wines each from Sardinia and Sicily and disucss what makes them unique and how they fit into your life. 6:30pm – 8:00pm Registration is required prior to the start date and time of Seminar.
