DANVERS, MA — Stop & Shop customers have a new option for contactless grocery pickup through temperature-controlled lockers at the Newbury Street location. Shoppers can place an order online, choose a pickup time and within 15 minutes of that time they will receive a text message that their order is ready at the new lockers without having to stand in line. Shoppers will get a code in the text that they can scan or enter at the designated locker kiosk located near the main entrance. Once the code is entered, the locker automatically opens with the bagged groceries inside. Danvers is one of two locations — along with the Tremont Street store in Boston — to offer the service. "The Locker Pickup program is another way we're providing our customers with an innovative and convenient solution for shopping and picking up their groceries," said Danvers Store Manager Pat Hickey said. "We hope that by eliminating the need to wait in line or go in-store, they'll get even more time back into their day." Customers will be charged a $2.95 fee for every Locker Pickup order. New pickup customers can receive $10 off orders of $60 or more and 90 days of free pickup. Did you find this article useful? Invite a friend to subscribe to Patch.
