TOMS RIVER, NJ — If going to the beach and dealing with sand everywhere isn't your idea of a fun day, Toms River officials say the township's swimming pool is getting ready to open for the 2021 summer season. Gov. Phil Murphy is removing coronavirus pandemic restrictions on community pools as the spread of COVID-19 continues to slow. Social distancing will still be in place, but capacity rules are being lifted as of May 19. The pool is scheduled to open for the summer on June 19. The pool is at 1810 Warren Pointe Road and is scheduled to be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pool badges are available for purchase only at the recreation building, at 1810 Warren Pointe Road. The rates are as follows: SEASON PASSES For Toms River residents: Adults $150, seniors 62 and over and children ages 4 to 12, $75, children 3 and younger free. For nonresidents: Adults $300, seniors 62 and older and children ages 4 to 12, $150, children 3 and younger free. DAILY RATES Monday-Friday: Adults $7; seniors and children, $5, children 3 and younger free. Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays: Adults $8, seniors and children $6, children 3 and younger free. Seniors who want or need at Toms River Township senior ID can obtain one at the Toms River Senior Center, 652 Garfield Ave. Proof of age will be required to get the senior ID.
