Press release from the City of Irving: May 13, 2021 After the May 11 election canvassing, the official results for the May 1 City Council Districts and Irving Bond Propositions are available. Irving residents elected Dennis Webb to the at-large District Place 8. Councilmen Phil Riddle, single-member District Place 4, and Al Zapanta, single-member District Place 6, were re-elected. All 12 of the Bond Propositions were passed by voters. Council Member Place 4 District 4 - Single Member Sunil Mosa: 805 votes Phil Riddle: 988 votes COUNCIL MEMBER PLACE 6 DISTRICT 6 - SINGLE MEMBER Al Zapanta: 982 votes COUNCIL MEMBER PLACE 8 - At Large David Palmer: 2,593 votes Dennis Webb: 3,642 votes The City of Irving is governed by a council-manager form of government where the City Council sets city policy and the City Manager is responsible for implementing that policy and managing city operations. The council consists of a mayor and eight council members who are elected for three-year terms. Elected officials are under a mixed system, which includes three at-large districts (Mayor, place 2 and 8), and six single-member districts (places 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7). Council meetings are held at least once a month on Thursdays, beginning at 7 p.m. Meeting dates are posted at CityofIrving.org/Agendas. All of the City Council meetings can be viewed live on Irving Community Television Network's cable Channel 95 – Charter and Channel 31 – Frontier, Channel 99 – AT&T, and at ICTN.tv Channel 2.
