Vehicle thefts in Denver's metro area have surged since the pandemic hit, according to a report by Colorado's Metropolitan Auto Theft Task Force. Compared to 2019, vehicle thefts rose in Denver's metro area by 55 percent in 2020, the task force said. An average of 74 vehicles have been stolen each day in Denver's metro area so far this year — more than double the average daily number stolen in 2019.
