HOBOKEN, NJ — There's plenty going on around Hoboken in the next week for families. Here are a few nearby activities for the coming week. Villiage Tree House Opens; 'Sensory Saturday' Planned Village Tree House opened last week at 119 Monroe St. It's a play space for kids 6 and under. They're open daily and will hold a special "Sensory Saturday" on May 22. The two moms who founded the venue, Marissa and Marisa, write, "Village Tree House is a child recreation facility/play space located in southwest Hoboken, and is dedicated to social, emotional and motor skill development through play. Our passion has always been focused on early childhood education and development as we have a collective 2+ decades working within the Hoboken childcare field. We look forward to experiencing the growth and learning of young children through a different lens, while continuing to offer support to parents." Village Tree House offers open play and private play, and will ultimately offer special events, parties, and classes. Find out more here. Main Street Pops: This Month's Artisan Market On Sunday Take your kids for a stroll under the 14th Street Viaduct on Sunday for the monthly Main Street Pops market, featuring local craftspeople and vendors. There's plenty to do in that area, too, from Bwe Coffee/Little City Books to Fruiti Fi juice shop. Find out more about Main Street Pops artisan markets here and this weekend's hours here. "Hoboken Scoot" Each Wednesday The "Hoboken Scoot" takes place each Wednesday from 3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hoboken Roller Hockey Rink. Masks, helmets and adult supervision are required. Find out more here. Liberty State Park Walks: Nature And History Just because you're in a city, doesn't mean there aren't multiple opportunities to learn about nature — even at nearby beachfronts! Liberty State Park is a short walk, drive, or light rail trip from Hoboken. The park offers a playground, views of the Hudson River and local ecosystem, nature walks, Caven Point Beach, and historic lectures. You can learn about everything from the Blue Comet Train to immigration to local birds. They've scheduled a horseshoe crab walk this Sunday at 10 a.m., meant for all ages. And a shorebird walk takes place the following Saturday (that one's recommended for ages 5 and up). Hoboken Art Walk On May 22, the city will host its Art Walk & Craft Market all over town, with more than 30 locations to view art and buy items from local artists and craftsmen and women.
