Description

There is no other more quintessentially Wiccan event as the Spiral Dance. Named after Starhawk's book of the same name it is an annual event traditionally held at Kezar Stadium or the Craneway Pavillion among other locations venerating the "blessed dead" on Samhain (SOW-in) the Wiccan Day of the Dead. Starhawk the leader of the Reclaiming Wiccan tradition is to many the equivalent to the Wiccan Pope(ess) and is the religion's major figurehead here in California. The event where altars are built, music and dance is had, and a ritual occurs was cancelled last year. According to a source associated with the event it may be cancelled this year too. However it is "hoped" according to the witch's collective to be going on in person this year nevertheless. Going online is another option. So what of the witches of the Spiral Dance during the pandemic? Well they have turned to the witchy wide web even more than before. Holding online workshops through the Reclaiming Collective.
