PLAINFIELD, IL — The high school seniors of 2021 have had an experience like no other in a century -- a year upended by a pandemic and by lockdowns that kept them from enjoying many of the activities that previous seniors have taken for granted. Patch hopes to help make it up to those seniors by giving them a special sendoff. We asked parents and other family members pay tribute to this year's grads using a special submission form so we can publish those tributes one by one. Plainfield Central High School student Robert Schmidt will graduate this year. Read what her loved ones had to say. Plans after graduation: College Accomplishments: Robert excelled in every honors and AP class he took, despite working through these difficult classes remotely! AND he earned a ride to Milwaukee School of Engineering!!!. Special message: You make us so very, very proud Robert! You challenged yourself to take the most difficult classes every year, you pushed yourself to excel in them despite holding a job and learning remotely, and you persevered through many difficult challenges.
