COVENTRY, RI — A hiring event in Coventry and across Rhode Island is looking to match 80 new employees with positions that come complete with a $500 sign-on bonus. This Saturday, RJ's Wholesale Club will host a hiring event at its stores in Coventry, Johnston and Middletown from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. To be interviewed for a position, would-be workers need to show up at one of the three stores during the event and check in at an outdoor tent, BJ's said in a news release. If the events become crowded, attendees will receive a text message when an interviewer becomes available. Current employees who recommend a new hire will receive a $500 referral bonus 90 days after the new worker is hired, the company said. New hires will also receive a $500 sign-on bonus. The company is looking to hire people to fill several roles including supervisors, leads, managers, cashiers, stock and recovery clerks, forklift drivers and more.
