REDONDO BEACH, CA — Authorities Thursday were asking the public's help to locate a missing 85-year-old man who was last seen in Redondo Beach. Savek Banphaburut, who was last seen Wednesday about 11 a.m. by his family members in the 2300 block of 190th Street in Redondo Beach, returned home Thursday about 10 a.m. without injuries, according to police. "Savek Banphaburut has been reunited with his family," police said. He is known to ride a green bicycle with a pink basket two to three times each week. He typically rides the bicycle for about three hours, leaving the residence at 5 p.m. and returning home by 8 p.m. His destination for the bike ride is the beach and the Redondo Beach Pier. "There are no signs of foul play, however, he has not yet returned to the residence," police said. Banphaburut is described as Asian, 6 feet tall, 130 pounds, with short, black hair. It's unknown what he was wearing when he left his home. He suffers from a heart condition that requires daily medication.
