We are seeking a volunteer Office Manager who is available ten hours a week. Most of the tasks can be done virtually. Occasionally you will need to go to our office, which is in Sacramento, CA. We are a nonprofit that has big plans! Sacramento Braille Transcribers, Inc. is a nonprofit that has been making books into braille for the past 63 years. We are in an exciting phase of drastically restructuring and that is where you come in. We are planning to grow our impact nationwide, but first we need to set up our internal workflow and support systems. Are you good at creating and maintaining organizational systems? Do you enjoy solving puzzles, like figuring out the best way to streamline production? Do you excel at delegating tasks and supporting volunteers so that they can finish their projects on time? This is an autonomous position, where you will make the decisions for the day-to-day operations, with guidance from the Board of Directors. Every day will be different! Responsibilities ● Create and maintain an efficient daily workflow for the virtual office ● Serve as the point person for maintenance, equipment, errands and vendors ● Partner with the HR Coordinator to create and maintain office policies ● Coordinate with IT department on all office equipment and collaborate on upgrades Depending on your interest, we would be happy to train you how to run the machines, so you could produce the braille books that our transcribers prepare digitally. It is not necessary that you know braille, but it is vital that you are a logical problem solver and that you have a keen attention to detail. Qualifications ● Strong prioritization and time management skills ● Comfortable with delegation ● Proven experience developing standards and procedures ● Strong technical and troubleshooting skills ● Prior experience utilizing G Suite, Slack and Office 365 Shockingly, only 1 out of 10 Americans who are blind can read braille!
