PHILADELPHIA — The gas shortage is causing price hikes in the Philadelphia region, according to AAA.
AAA Thursday reported a 2-cent gas price increased in Philadelphia, as well as in Delaware, Bucks, Montgomery, and Chester counties.
Prices as of Thursday in the region are $3.12 on average, which matches the state's average price.
Nationally, the average gas price is $3.02 Thursday, which up 2 cents overnight and up 8 cents in the last week.
Gas in the Philly region over the past week saw a 7-cent increase, as well.
Gov. Tom Wolf urged Pennsylvanians to not panic and not stockpile gasoline during the shortage, caused by last week's cyberattack on the Colonial Pipeline by DarkSide, a Russian ransomware group.
