Description

We are Kids Dojo, a nonprofit organization that takes kids mountain biking. www.kidsdojo.org We are looking for 5 instructors to help run Palo Alto, Los Gatos and Santa Cruz Summer Camps and After School programs. This person needs to be over 21, must have a valid driver’s license, willing to get a CDL, be CPR and First Aid certified. The job pays $20 an hour. You need to be able to ride a Mt bike and be able to ride for up to 10-14 miles a day. They are kids so the pace is slow and usually easy. There will be senior instructors to help you with the trails. General Responsibilities: Customer service with Parents at check in and drop off. Show up on time and stay until the last child is picked up. Provide leadership and guidance on and off the trail Maintain a positive working relationship with other staff and maintain an enthusiastic attitude daily with the children Observe children’s behavior and enforce appropriate safety regulations. Have specific consequences for bad behavior Review the Rules everyday with the kids before getting off the bus and make sure you follow the daily checklist. Specific Responsibilities: Set a positive example in exercise, riding, and attitude. Your number one job is to make sure the kids are safe and having fun. Be a leader to each individual in your group Follow daily agenda that outlines trails and locations. If you need to alter it based on the children work with the home office to come up with an alternative plan. Reinforce trail and cycling safety regulations. Observe each camper daily and check for cuts, bruises, skin rashes, poison oak/ivy or other indications of illness or injury and check in with parents if there are any issues. Help the campers with daily self-maintenance tasks: i.e., collecting their supplies, making sure they have lunches and water, helmet and snacks before they get on the bus. Job Types: Part-time, Temporary Pay: $20.00 per hour
