Description

Meet Frederick! PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS INQUIRIES AND NO ADVICE IS NEEDED DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. We unfortunately need to find a new home for our Rabbit. He is a Flemish Giant X New Zealand X Chinchilla mix. He was originally rescued by us at a rabbit meat farm as a baby. He is neutered and currently weighs 14 pounds. He will be 1 in June. About Fred: We love Fred! He is a character and a bit spoiled for a rabbit. Fred is both an indoor/outdoor rabbit and HIS routine is extremely important to him. He must be let out at 5am every morning and he likes to be back into the house by 8. He has never been kept in a cage, he is free range and likes to have his own space. He is litter box trained and prefers for you not to touch his stuff while he is present. He loves to tear up rugs/carpet. We buy him bathroom rugs and he loves them. He likes all foods, especially if you drop crumbs after eating. Behavior and Disclosure: Fred's neurological health has declined tremendously. Fred is extremely aggressive, unhandleable without CAUTION, and has attacked our children. He does bite, scratch, grunt, box, and lunge. PLEASE NO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN. AGAIN He has attacked our children out of no where and was completely unprovoked. (He was handled as a baby often and used to be so sweet but aging has not been great on Fred). Fred does not like for you to touch him with your hands, he will sometimes approach you to touch him with your feet. He is very fast and will kick you if you walk towards him. Because he is a larger breed, he does require a lot of food. He is used to having food available 24/7. Fred DOES NOT LIKE OTHER ANIMALS. He would need his own space and out of view of other animals (yes, even animals that are not his species). IDEAL HOME/OWNER: Fred's ideal and realistic future home would possibly be a farm. With enough space for him to be alone outdoors. He is an excellent digger so please be prepared. If you consider him for indoors, he used used to having access to an entire downstairs area (living room, kitchen, closets, and bathroom). His ideal owner should possibly be someone who has experience with MEAT rabbits. Not pet rabbits. Unfortunately, we have learned the hard way that Fred is not an ideal pet and should be approach with caution as a wild rabbit. We know this is a lot of information, and please we do not mean to deter you but we want to make sure he goes to a home that is prepared for him so that everyone is happy and safe. Please call or text if you are interested.
