The shift lead will work under the supervision of the Account Manager / Supervisor and perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services as well as coordinate staff duties and verify completion. Such duties shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services. Second shift lead works from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Leadership experience preferred. • Exercise care and sound judgement in the performance of assigned duties. • Lead and oversee the assigned shift of cleaners. • Clarify information when necessary, including information about safety laws, rules, methods and procedures pertaining to custodial work. • Ensure readiness of cleaners and cleaning equipment prior to the start of shift. • Train employees on custodial work procedures. • Demonstrate safe work practices and correct operation and usage of equipment to cleaners. • Knowledge of methods, materials, chemicals, tools and equipment used in custodial work. • Assign, lead, monitor and assess work of subordinates. • Check out move cleaning supplies to and from designated areas, return supplies or discard supply containers in accordance with oral and/or written instructions guidelines. • Receive incoming supplies and track inventory, request needed items to perform duties prior to depletion of inventory. • Notify Supervisor of need for repairs of equipment or facilities, ensure equipment is clean and in working order. • Carry radio and answer incoming radio calls. • Fully sanitize and disinfect all surfaces used by guests and team members. • Maintain cleanliness throughout shift. • Sweep, mop, and wash floors, and other surfaces. • Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas. • Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces including periodic high dusting. • Clean glass, mirrors and partitions. • Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily. • Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. • Monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report issues to supervisors. • Collect building trash daily and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal. • Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers. • Complete basic logs and reports on work progress and tasks assigned to custodial staff. • Any and all other duties as assigned. *Candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check, including criminal history. Requirements: • Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as a part of a team. • Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment. • Must have attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service and high levels of energy and endurance. • May be required to work in a smoking area. • Ability to walk for extended periods of time, as well as bend, stoop, push, pull and lift up to 30 lbs. • Ability to calmly address issues and concerns as they appear. • Willingness to learn the safe handling and disposal procedures for hazardous materials specific to cleaning compounds, solutions and chemicals used on site. • Communicate effectively in oral and written format with subordinates, supervisors, clients, contracted workers, and the general public.
