Heatherwood is looking for full-time Seasonal Grounds Maintenance to work at our various locations throughout Long Island. A person in this position is reasonably expected to work 40 hours per week during the summer season. The season starts on June 1st, and typically ends on or about September 30th. We currently have positions available at: Hillcrest Village located at: 865 Broadway Ave, Holbrook NY 11741 Medford Pond located at: 1100 Lake Drive, Medford NY 11763 Colony Park located at: 500 Peconic Street, Ronkonkoma NY 11779 Southwood located at: 25 Brefni Street, Amityville NY 11701 Duties and responsibilities: • Care for diverse plantings of trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, grasses, and bulbs. • Ground clean-ups. • Maintenance of grass e.g. fertilizer and/or treatment. • Moving appliances into vacant apartments and/or cleaning of same. • Perform seasonal landscape work and Special Projects (e.g. new mulch beds, put down red rocks). • Repair irrigation systems and/or install. • Perform other tasks as needed. Qualifications: • Must have a Valid NYS Driver’s License. • Knowledge of repairing sprinkler zone valves-a plus. • Knowledge of power equipment a plus. • Some landscaping and grounds experience. Working conditions: • Candidate in this position might be required to work an occasional weekend.
