Description
McLean Hospital is seeking children ages 10-14 who have made a suicide attempt in the past
3 months to be part of a new research study.
Selected participants will complete interviews, fill out questionnaires, and complete a
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scan. They will also have two brief follow-up
appointments at 3- and 6-months.
Children will also receive a mental health assessment at no cost and will be compensated for
their time.
***Please note—children do NOT have to stop any ongoing treatment to be in this
study.***
Eligibility:
-- Children age 10-14 years who have made a suicide attempt in the past 3 months
-- English fluency (child & parents)
-- No braces/metal implants
-- No prior/current history of:
-- Head trauma
-- Loss of consciousness
-- Seizures
