Window Covering Installer and Service Technician Budget Blinds Central Portland is a local family owned and operated franchisee of the largest provider of custom window coverings in the US and Canada. We are looking for an incredible installer to join our team. We provide residential and commercial custom window treatments that range from basic blinds to motorized shades that interact with home automation systems to custom designed drapery. All must be installed beautifully with proper carpentry methods and artistic flair. Job Responsibilities: Interact with all clients in a professional and service oriented mindset Install new window coverings, including but not limited to blinds, shades, shutters, draperies, and motorized products Must confidently install in a wide range of surfaces from wood to drywall to metal and cement. Remove old window coverings and dispose of properly Troubleshoot and problem solve in the field Perform in-field window covering repair Leave clients home clean and free from damage, debris, dust, etc. Turn in all required paperwork and field reports, take photos of completed work and send review requests. Effectively work with owner, admin staff and designers in a small team environment. Be able to give effective and quality feedback on any field issues. Work with Installation Manager to maximize efficiencies Maintain work van, tools and equipment in clean and operational condition Qualifications: Must be well groomed, professional and presentable in physical appearance Friendly, courteous and pleasant with all types of people Possess a professional work ethic demonstrated by being reliable, dependable, responsible and mature Provide an excellent and clean driving record and a valid driver’s license Preference given to those with previous window covering experience Secondary priority given to work experience in the trades; Carpentry experience preferred. Can perform physical work with no limitations or restrictions Can lift up to 50 lbs Very comfortable with ladders, stairs, scaffolding, bending, stooping and climbing Must be able to operate small power tools; drills, saws, etc. Can read and take accurate measurements Telephone, written and verbal communication skills are easily understood and meet the high level of professionalism Budget Blinds provides to its clients What We Provide Full time work in 5 days a week, typical schedule is 7:30am – 5:00pm. Overtime rates apply after 40 hours per week. Pay is based on your experience and begins at $18/hour. Veteran installers make$25+/hour Paid installer training and certifications Opportunities to attend industry related conferences Real time support in the field Work vehicle and all tools provided Company credit card for Gas and expenses. $25-month stipend toward smart phone Vacation and Sick time 401k program with company match Medical and Dental Insurance. 50% employer contribution towards EE cost.
