Description

A fun 45-minute Bootcamp Fundraiser Event to bring awareness to the #stopasianhate movement and to promote awesome asian owned businesses Hi! We are Alyssa Shoji (Shoji Fitness) & Alex Higa (HIGAfit) two Asian American trainers based in Seattle, WA. In honor of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month we wanted to host a fun bootcamp fundraiser to bring people together to show support for not only the #stopasianhate movement, but to highlight Asian owned businesses, companies & products both locally here in Seattle and across the US. We are joining forces with some great Asian Owned companies, such as Good! Snacks, Picklee Waters, Fix Hot Sauce and SeaSnax (just to name a few) to put on a workout event in hopes to raise money for two non-profits. The first non-profit we chose to support is Stop AAPI Hate (Chinese for Affirmative Action) who track and respond to incidents of hate, violence, discrimination etc. against the AAPI community in the US as well as provide resources for impacted community members. The second non-profit we chose to support is The Wing Luke Museum of Asian and Pacific American Experience in Seattle, Washington. This Wing Luke Museum - Empowers Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) to tell their stories and histories in our own voices - Fosters the work of contemporary APA artists - Supports and revitalizes Seattle’s Chinatown-International District through our events and tours - Strengthens the APA community through leadership development and opportunities - Serves as a primary Smithsonian affiliate in the Pacific Northwest, a National Park Service Affiliated Area, and as the nation’s only museum dedicated to the pan-APA community 100% of donations will be divided 50/50 between the 2 organizations listed above. We hope that you will be able to join us for a fun and uplifting workout and encourage you to make a donation of any size in support of both StopAAPIHate.org & The Wing Luke Museum. Thank you! Alyssa & Alex
