HELP WANTED If you love the beach then work in the sand everyday guiding kayaking tours on the Ocean, Bay and The Narrows. We are open and guiding trips thru October. Part time and full-time help needed. Must be able to start at 8am and work until 3pm. Some sunset times also available. If you are a surfer, kayaker, stand-up paddler or just enjoy the water then you will love working for our company. If you like working with people, we can teach you the technical side of being an outdoor adventure guide. We are looking for outgoing people, who like to have fun, enjoy working with a good team and are customer oriented. OUR JOBS are Part-Time and Full-Time 8-40 hrs a week. Lead guides must have good driving record in addition to the requirements of Assistant Guides. Assistant guides must: Have First Aid and CPR Certifications and have Good physical condition because applicants will be lifting up to 90 lbs (kayaks). Skills needed: friendly, easily excited to come to work, good; people, communication, and teaching skills a must. Must be able to instill in others, trust of oneself. Physical fitness a must, as well as First Aid and CPR. Lead Guides must be able to drive a van towing a trailer of kayaks. Knowledge of the local environment helpful and surfing, kayaking good but not necessary, we can teach you these. Pay and bonus. New hire bonus pay: If you can work an average of 1 day each week thru Labor Day we will pay a $200 bonus. If you can work an average of 2 days each week thru Labor Day, we will pay a $400 bonus. If you can work an average of 3 days each week thru Labor Day, we will pay a $600 bonus. If you can work an average of 4 days each week thru Labor Day, we will pay an $800 bonus. If you can work an average of 5 days each week thru Labor Day, we will pay a $1000 bonus. Tips are split between guide and assistant and will be significant if you are a great guide. Lead Guide pay: Flatwater, $70 to run a 2.5 hr trip (3.5 to 4 hrs plus drive time), $105 for 2 in a row; Ocean or Chesapeake Bay launch, $80 to run a 2.5 hr trip (3.5 to 4 hrs plus drive time), $120 for 2 in a row. You will need to work 5 or 6 trips as an assistant before you can lead trips. Assistant Guide pay: Flatwater, $40 to run a 2.5 hr trip (3.5 to 4 hrs), $75 for 2 in a row; Ocean or Chesapeake Bay launch, $45 to run a 2.5 hr trip (3.5 to 4 hrs plus drive time), $85 for 2 in a row.
