Audubon South Carolina is offering a unique Advocacy Training opportunity to equip new advocates and give a voice to the birds we love. Lake Conestee Nature Preserve is proud to be the Upstate partner of Audubon South Carolina. Audubon South Carolina protects birds and the places they need, right here in our state. There is no better way to protect birds and our natural resources than to engage with our elected leaders and advocate for wildlife protections. Audubon South Carolina is offering a unique Advocacy Training opportunity to equip new advocates and give a voice to the birds we love. Join us for this thorough training where we will cover how to be the best advocate for the issues that impact our community. The Audubon staff will offer all participants the chance to participate in a bird banding activity before the training begins. Lunch will be provided as well. WHEN Saturday, June 5th, 9:00am-12:30pm WHERE 601 Fork Shoals Rd. This is the office entrance. The meeting will occur under the cover of our Shortleaf Shelter. COST This event is free. HEALTH AND SAFETY - COVID Policy This event is limited to 20 people and will take place entirely outside. In following with recommendations from the CDC and SCDHEC we will require face masks when physical distancing is not possible. Please do not attend the event if you are showing any symptoms of COVID. WEATHER In the event of severe weather we will cancel the event. Participants will be notified the night before the event if it is cancelled.
