Description

MASSAPEQUA, NY — This year, Massapequa residents will be voting in-person for the 2021-22 school district budget on May 18. The coronavirus was not an acceptable reason to request an absentee ballot for this year's election, so the majority of the voting will be done in person. The vote will be held from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at four different polling locations: Massapequa High School, Fairfield Elementary School, Lockhart Elementary School and McKenna Elementary School. Your polling location is determined by where you live. You can check the district's website to find your polling location. The district's proposed spending plan for the 2021-22 school year is $210,511,077, which is an increase of 1.37 percent, or $2,835,431 over the current budget. To fund the increase, the district proposes a tax levy of $169,289,819, up 1.23 percent from the current year's, which the district says is the smallest tax levy increase in five years.
