Description
TYSONS, VA — Fairfax County Police have charged a woman who they say falsely posed as an attorney and took money for legal assistance related to immigration.
Earlier in 2021, detectives became aware of Americanos for America Party Incorporated, which victims paid for legal services related to immigration. Police say victims met Jasmine Moawad, 45, of Gainesville, in Tysons office space and paid for legal services she was not licensed to provide.
Fairfax County Police arrested Moawad Wednesday with assistance from Virginia State Police and Prince William County Police. She was charged with two felony counts of larceny by false pretenses, taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and released on an $8,000 unsecured bond.
Detectives believe there may be other victims who paid for services from Americanos for America Party Incorporated and never received the services. Anyone with information is asked to call 703-802-2750 or submit a tip through Crime Solvers.
