Description

NAUGATUCK, CT — A proposed commercial development on Prospect Street in Naugatuck inched closer to reality last week, despite ongoing opposition to the project from neighbors and other residents, reported Citizen's News. Planned for the 13.95-acre site is a 10,000-square-foot building and parking lot that would require a small bridge over the Fulling Mill Brook to access. That proposed bridge is part of opponents' concerns, because they say it could adversely impact the brook and environment. The town's Inland Wetlands Commission voted 3-2 last week to approve a permit for the project, but tacked on several conditions, such as having erosion specialists on-hand to monitor construction.
