DANBURY, CT — The Greater Danbury Community Health Center has announced it will expand vaccine offerings to include the Pfizer vaccine, and make it available children ages 12-17. The first shipment of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine is anticipated to arrive at the 132 Main Street clinic for use beginning the week of May 17. For the remainder of the month of May, GDCHC will offer the vaccine from 2-4:45 p.m. on May 17, 18, 20, 24 and 25 The clinic will be closed Memorial Day, May 31. GDCHC patients should call the Pediatric Department for an appointment at 203-456-1411. For non-GDCHC patients, appointments for these May dates must be made through the state's Vaccine Administration Management System. Search "Greater Danbury Community Health Center" at 132 Main Street for an available appointment. GDCHC will also offer walk-in appointments for the Moderna vaccine (available to adults 18 and older) from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 2:00–3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the same 132 Main Street address. Beginning in June, GDCHC will offer the Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 and above on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Moderna vaccine will be offered for adults ages 18 and above on Tuesday and Thursday. Walk-in hours for both age groups and vaccines are 11 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2:00-4:45 p.m. Later slots up to 5:30 p.m. will be available by appointment only, in order to ensure patient count and avoid having to discard any doses. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for appropriate consent. Vaccine clinics at the GDCHC are operated by the Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. and are free of charge.
